We are looking for an engaged Traffic Officer to Community Building!

In this role, you will work with traffic issues in close collaboration with colleagues, citizens, and external stakeholders – from processing to decision-making. We offer a role with significant responsibility, varied tasks, and the opportunity to influence the traffic environment for the residents of Piteå.

Responsibilities

As a Traffic Officer, you primarily work with processing and regulatory activities. You are responsible for investigating temporary permits for public spaces and market trading. The work also involves investigating, assessing, and deciding on parking permits for the disabled, as well as investigating and deciding on grants for private roads. Processing and decisions regarding traffic organization plans, exemptions from local traffic regulations, long/broad and heavy transports, as well as processing and supervision of flower boxes on municipal streets are also part of your assignment.

In your work, you will have a lot of contact with residents, businesses, associations, interest organizations, and the police authority. The unit works together to ensure good order and an attractive street environment while enabling events and business activities.

Qualifications

You have previous experience in processing/regulatory activities and very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. We expect you to have a relevant post-secondary education, for example in traffic, urban planning, public administration, political science, or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. Experience with traffic organization plans or other traffic-related issues is an advantage. A driver's license (B) is required.

You are a person with good administrative skills and are used to driving your work independently. Through good communication and collaboration skills, you manage contacts with citizens and other authorities. You are accustomed to working in digital systems.

More about the position

Permanent employment, full-time. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Flexible hours apply. Opportunities for remote work are available. Your workplace is at Stadsporten in central Piteå, where we work in an activity-based manner.
